In June, Great Wall Motors Tianjin R&D Center was officially registered and established in Tianjin Economic Development Zone, focusing on three core areas: intelligent cockpit, intelligent driving, and automotive cloud platform, with full stack R&D capabilities for automotive intelligence. The expected number of R&D personnel in the center is 250 to 300, with a focus on tackling issues related to operating systems, software ecosystems, AI technology, and more. At this point, Tianjin Economic Development Zone has gathered more than ten research and development institutions, including China Automotive Research Institute, FAW Toyota Research and Development Branch, and Volkswagen Technology Tianjin Branch. Stable ecological chassis: continuous improvement of industrial chain coordination and supporting system

More than 10 leading vehicle companies, including FAW Toyota, FAW Volkswagen, Great Wall Motors, and Xiaomi, as well as over 150 component companies, attended the conference and reached multiple intentions for supporting cooperation. In terms of component matching, Great Wall Motors' Mande Tianjin subsidiary has officially started production, with a total investment of about 1 billion yuan; Honeycomb Drive will invest an additional 120 million yuan to build three production lines, including DHT hybrid transmission; The total investment for the reconstruction project of the DE series body welding workshop is 100 million yuan. Tianjin has formed a diversified supporting system mainly composed of foreign investment from Japan, Germany, and South Korea, and a sound private sector, with over 400 large-scale component enterprises.

Fast track layout: intelligent networking and export dual wheel drive

On January 1st, the "Regulations on Promoting the Development of Intelligent Connected Vehicles in Tianjin" officially came into effect, providing legal protection for innovative applications of high-level autonomous driving. The city has opened up a total of 7274 kilometers (including 600 kilometers of highways) of intelligent connected vehicle testing roads, and 14 regions have achieved full area opening. The construction of the Beijing Tianjin Hebei Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicle Technology Ecological Port (Wuqing Park) is accelerating, and 8 projects including Dongya Automobile will be put into operation successively within this year. In terms of exports, Tianjin Port has exported a total of 330000 vehicles with a value of 21.09 billion yuan from January to May, a year-on-year increase of 9.6% and 18.7% respectively.
